To Twitter or Not To Twitter?

While I am sitting here, coming off my Starbucks high and waiting for children to fall asleep, I wonder... What is the deal with Twitter? Is it really that great? Should I join? Do I really need another thing to be addicted to on my computer?

Would anyone even follow my Twitter???

Sleep... Where are you?

Why oh why does my lovely baby boy spend 4 glorious nights sleeping 7 hour stretches only to revert back to waking every couple of hours last night? Then he decides 5am is a wonderful time to wake up for the day. Of course it is Sunday so there is nothing on TV at 5am. Here I am, 5:43am watching kids TV (on our new cable.... only really get kids tv!) with a clingy baby in my lap trying desperately to eat his toes that are hidden in his pajamas. Hubby has a parade today so I'm being nice and letting him sleep, hoping he will return the favor after the parade and let me nap. We'll see on that, not holding my breath!

Anyway, that's my totally random vent for the day. I am exhausted, but my babe is so adorable I can't help but smother him in sleepy kisses and hope he does indeed get those yummy toes. =)

Libertyville Parade 2009

Ready to go to the parade!

Navy Band Great Lakes plays in the Libertyville parade 6/20/09

Jordan in the stroller, peaking back at me.

Bagpipers. I think I liked them better than Jordan did.

Cute balloon.

Mr. Ben peaking out of the carrier. Not sure if this is before or after the little stinker pooped out of his diaper and shorts and onto me (and I didn't even know until we got back to the car!!).

Horses... There were a lot!

I think this was Jordan's favorite balloon.

Pretty girl with her American flag.

Congratulations Pittsburgh Penguins!

I am so proud to be a Pittsburgher this year. First the Steelers win their 6th superbowl. And now the Pittsburgh Penguins have brought Lord Stanley home again! Crosby, you made me cry when you got injured, but the team pulled me through the tears and made me so proud! Congratulations to Malkin getting mvp!! I am so proud of the entire team, great job!!!

My Favorite!

Out of all the carriers I own and have tried, the Ten Toes is my absolute favorite! Sorry Emily! I do like my pouch and sling, but as far as comfort goes with my hefty boy, this one is great. Maybe one day I will be adventurous to try a mei tai again, but for now... this is the way we carry. It is a good thing he's so comfy in there because he spends a lot of time in the carrier when I take Jordan pretty much anywhere she is out of a stroller!

Two Things I Learned Today

1. The Apple Iphone is now $99. That is much more affordable to us when we switch to AT&T this Autumn.

2. Despite loving to bake, I SUCK at making cupcakes. Whether I am to blame, or my oven that likes to be hotter than the reading temperature is to blame, I don't know. But my cupcakes turned out quite yucky. They usually aren't quite right though, so I think I will stick to cakes and cookies.

Oh, and bread. I have found a new love for baking bread!! I have only made one loaf of whole wheat bread so far, but I can't wait to try a new recipe soon. =)

5 Months Old

That's right! My baby Ben is 5 months old as of yesterday. He's growing up so fast. It's just not fair. I read on Facebook that another mom who has a son Ben's age is already at pre-pregnancy weight. Again, Not fair! Though I am quite happy for her and suspect she didn't gain nearly as much as I did during pregnancy. I have so far lost 35 pounds since ben was born. 10 of those since we moved to Chicago 3 months ago!! So the unwanted weight is coming off slowly... maybe if I worked out harder and was stricter aboout weight watchers it would come off faster, but I obviously can't be bothered to work harder than I already am so no sense beating myself up over it!

Anyway, here is my Mr. Ben wearing an adorable outfit that my mom bought nearly 3 years ago for my best friend's boy John. Cec is gracious enough to lend us all her boy clothes =)

Jordan is now 28 months old... nearly a big 2 and a half year old =) She is so talkative and always has something to say. She is quite the bossy one, always telling us to "get up" or "go get it". And very inquisitive... "where train go?" "where MY daddy?" etc. But the cutest thing she says is "Please, OK!!"

Here she is hiding from me... so sneaky ;)

Hand in Hand

It's been a busy couple of weeks, so I have not been paying nearly enough attention to my blog. I apologize. Dave's mom visited from Los Angeles for 6 days, then my mom visited from Pittsburgh for 6 days. Our schedules have been a bit thrown off track, but well worth it for the kiddos to see their grandmas!!

Saturday my mom wanted to go do some shopping (children not invited... toddlers and antiques don't go together!) so Dave and I took the kids to the Racine Zoo. Cute little zoo, perfect for toddlers who insist on following the beat of their own drum. I got some awesome photos of Dave and Jordan, but this was my favorite. Jordan is so in love with her daddy! Poor Jordan will be without daddy (essentially) the next few days since his work load is a bit heavy and he has to be at gigs Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until past her bedtime. Because this is a fairly common occurance during the summer, moments like the one above are precious.

I can't wait for the day that Ben can walk down a path holding our hands as well. Our precious little boy is getting SO BIG! Thankfully he hasn't mastered rolling yet, in fact he hates tummy time, so he is still fairly stationary. He'll be moving soon, I can sense it!
