Hefty Hefty Baby!

Ben finally had his 4 month doctor's appointment last week. He weighed in at 16 lb 9oz, 70th percentile! We have tried rice cereal with him a few times. He loves to eat it! I can't move the spoon fast enough, he has to grab my hand and shove the spoon in his mouth. Unfortunately his little tummy doesn't like rice cereal and every time we've given it to him, he is miserable at night. So we will wait a few more days before trying again. In the meantime, Ben is left to supplement with toys.

Yesterday we went into Chicago via the train. Jordan had a good time on her first train ride though it was a big long for her to sit nicely. We got into the city and had a lovely walk, especially in the park. On our way back to the train station, we stopped to get family photographs. The wind kept blowing tons of water on us and Jordan got ticked off, so we left. Upon a glance back at the fountains, we saw a rainbow!! I only hope the couple posing for wedding photos got the rainbow in their photos too!

Feline Fridays

How do you teach a toddler to respect animals? Especially when you, the responsible adult figure, likes to shake your kitty's belly to make him yodel?

I love my cats. A lot. Dave asked last night why we even still have them. They mew late at night, have stinky poop, constantly get under our feet at the most inappropriate times, they hit our child, leave fur on dark clothing and uniforms. But my gosh... do I love those pesky little (big in Roy's case) furballs!

My cats would have to do something DREADFUL for me to get rid of them. The occasional swat on Jordan's head by our declawed fat lazy cat is not a good enough reason (and we adopted him already declawed, so don't start lecturing me on that topic). And to be fair to Roy, Jordan isn't exactly gentle to him either. Last night she tried to cover him with a laundry basket while he was drinking water. She constantly pushes her toys in his face.

Thankfully Alice has enough intelligence to run away from children.... and me...

But for now, getting rid of them is not an option. Sorry Dave. Time to suck it up and imbrace the fur-babies!!

Happy Belated Mommy's Day!

To all the mothers out there, I want to wish you a happy (belated) mother's day!

I was having too much fun with my family to post this weekend. Sorry! =)

I just got my new computer tonight, so I will be busy the next few days setting it up to my liking. After that, I'll be posting lots of pictures and videos that I have been meaning to upload. So keep checking for updates, because I should be back to blogging regularly soon!

It's Friday, I'm in Love!

I don't care if Monday's blue
Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too
Thursday I don't care about you
It's Friday, I'm in love

Monday you can fall apart
Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart
Oh, Thursday doesn't even start
It's Friday I'm in love

Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...

I don't care if Mondays black
Tuesday, Wednesday - heart attack
Thursday, never looking back
It's Friday, I'm in love

Monday, you can hold your head
Tuesday, Wednesday stay in bed
Or Thursday - watch the walls instead
It's Friday, I'm in love

Saturday, wait
And Sunday always comes too late
But Friday, never hesitate...

These lyrics pretty much sum up how I feel most days. Monday through Thursday are busy with Dave's job, working out, cleaning, cooking, errands, etc etc etc.... We all get stressed out. Maybe say things that we later regret. But once Friday rolls around I know the weekend will be here and I'm just high in the sky happy to have my family together again. Is it weird to love your family the most on a certain day? Not that I really love them less any other day, but Fridays are just different.

Does that even make sense? It does in my head... ;)

So I am in love today, because it is Friday.

More House Photos - Outside

Outside of our house. It looks smaller than it really is because the house is split level.

View from our front door. Look at all the lovely green!!! The rain is worth something I suppose.

Flowers next to the house. I didn't plant these. I have no green thumb!
