Recycling Gone Too Far

My whole life I have been programed to wipe front to back, as every girl has. It is just what you do when you are going to the bathroom. So now that I have a boy, I can't seem to wrap my brain around the whole "penis" situation. I can wipe in any direction I want to?? That is against everything I know! And even though I've obviously seen penises before, it is really weird to have to touch a little one at least 8 times a day. I feel like I have entered foreign territory. Getting peed on? Definitely has happened to me twice now. Even our wall has been christened with newborn pee.

But Ben has taken the "penis" situation a bit too far. Dave and I gave Ben his first bath at home yesterday. All was going well, we managed to clean him... he pooped, cleaned him again. Then Dave and I were about to get him out of the tub when he peed. You really can't blame the poor little man, he was all exposed and nothing was covering him. However... it was WHERE the pee went that startled us. His penis shot up and the pee went right into his MOUTH! Some things need not be recycled!

I hope Ben's future wife reads this one day ;)

I've always been more comfortable cleaning up a boy, I feel so invasive with Cassidy.

Yes, we started Jax on solids, I can't believe he's 5 months old already; but, considering he was tad colicky the first few months, I'm glad we're past that.

Poor little man. Jamie peed in his face once and scared himself silly.

Ben got a bath? Did his cord fall off already?

nope, still has his cord. it doesn't look like its coming off any time soon! it was just with a washcloth. his hair wasn't as fuzzy, so i knew he needed it =)

LOL I'm sure you have just scarred this little man for life! But it was funny!

Wasnt Jordan the one who kept her cord stump for like forever?

Jordan had her cord stump for 3.5 months!

I don't think I was ever programmed to wipe that way! I wipe back to front.

I hope Ben's future wife reads that too :)

Oh my gosh! I have tears running down my cheeks from laughing so hard, I feel the EXACT same way! There are crevices that I'm not familiar with, and am not all that comfortable touching...I even asked Ted to make sure I was doing it right, because I don't have the same "equipment", lol! As for the peeing...Austin has peed in his face twice (in his mouth once), and I couldn't help but laugh at how startled he was - I'm a horrible mother, I know...

Jaxon has never peed on himself! And he only peed on us twice. Once at riverton (4mo) and about three months ago at the pool.

He did do one of those travelling poo's though. Where Tim was trying to change him and it just kept happening. So Tim would move him up the mat and clean it again and he'd do it again!

Now THAT was the funniest thing ever. I am so glad it happened to Tim!

And hey, being a mother is hard...we have to laugh at something right??
