Reality, you suck.

On Wednesday, March 19th we found out Dave got accepted into the Navy Music Program. Yes, this summer my husband will be going to boot camp, then music training school, then voila, a Navy Band member! A JOB!!! It is rare for a musician of any sort to finish school and have a job lined up, so we are both really pleased. Dave will get a good job, I will not have to work full time anymore, we can get a house, start ttc for baby #2... then why, you may ask, have I been totally bummed out the past few days?

Reality has sunk in... Dave will be gone for 7 months (6 weeks of bootcamp and 21 weeks of music school). That is 7 months of me being a "single" mom and working full time. Oh. My. God. How will I DO THIS???

By the way. Dave told me about these videos... pretty funny!

If only Dave was this hot. HAHAHA.

Random video

This was taken on Sunday at my mother's house. My sister, her daughter, and her son were also visiting from Maryland. It's nothing special, only family hanging out, enjoying each other's company, and being entertained by toddlers. No one needs TV to entertain them when they have active toddlers about, that is for sure! I could spend hours watching my daughter walk around and be pleasantly entertained by every day objects.

3 Random photos

Here are Jordan's new shoes! Do YOU think they were worth $55?? ........ sigh .........

Close up of the cut above Jordan's eye. (you have to click on the photo to enlarge it to the cut better) Poor girl... I swear it was an accident. Her teachers kept asking me what happened, I hope they aren't planning on calling child services!! Uh-Oh!

Weight Challenge

Holidays always make me depressed about my weight. I get overwhelmed by the goodies and cannot escape them so I end up eating way too much for a period of time longer than the actual holiday. For example, Easter. My mom got enough chocolate for the entire county, and only Dave and I are here to eat it... of course we do! Then I tell myself I will get back on track eating-wise on Monday. But alas, I am thwarted at the office by everyone else's leftover goodies. Apparently I never got the memo that you don't start a diet on Easter Monday! Well excuuuuuuuse me. So I decided to start, again, today, thinking that everyone unloaded their leftovers yesterday. No such luck, boss found MORE chocolate that she wanted to get rid of.... and of course I ate it. I don't even LIKE peanut M&Ms!!! But that didn't stop me from eating handfuls now did it? So, for the third time this week, I will be starting my diet over tomorrow.

I told a friend yesterday to look at my blog so she could see the Easter photos of the baby, meanwhile I could remain lazy and not send the photos to her directly. She send me an email back saying "you're looking skinny as fuck. do you even eat anymore???" Well, yes, in fact I eat TOO much... hence why I have been juggling the same 5-6 pounds for the past 4 months. So I told my friend that I want to lose about 10 more pounds before I start trying to conceive baby #2 (yes, Dave and I have discussed this a lot recently!). My friend replies back saying "just don't understand when you say you want to lose another 10 lbs before you get pg. again...you're just gonna gain weight again anyway!?" Well, it makes sense to me! If I am a size 12 now, and I gain a good bit of weight during pregnancy (I gained 52 pounds last time!) then post-pregnancy I will be about a size 16. That disgusts me. However, if I can get down to a size 10 before getting pregnant, then a size 14 would be my fat pants post-pregnancy. Does this make sense to anyone else besides me??? With the last pregnancy I started off overweight and ended up a whooping 232 pounds the day Jordan was born. DISGUSTING!!! I had never even seen size 20 pants, but that's what I had to buy when I returned to work 7 weeks after Jordan was born. I never want to see those pants again! Nor 18, nor 16. I can deal with 14, and 12s are fine. But I'd love love love to fit into size 10 again! Oh to be skinny!!

So yes, my friend, I still need to lose a bit more weight. And starting tomorrow I am back on Weight Watchers program... now, where did I put those M&Ms.......

Easter 2008

Happy Easter!! Unfortunately Jordan wasn't in the best of moods yesterday morning before church. Poor girly was chasing the cat, stopped in our bedroom, tripped, and smacked her face into our metal bed frame. So, for Easter, Jordan got her first black eye. At least she got to hear some of the sermon, see daddy play on stage, and play in the nursery.

First Hair Cut

Well, after the hair clip incidents... yes, we tried numerous times and without fail the clips were out within seconds. So I finally gave in and realized my daughter cannot see unless her hair gets cut. I did compromise, I cut the bangs, but left the rest... I didn't dare cut the curls! They might never grow back if I did.

The only way we could get this done was to bribe her with fruit. Thankfully she didn't grab at the scissors, though she does have a silly look on her face. =)

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Here is Jordan's new favorite song! Though she isn't quite as into it for the camera as I had hoped (well, it was only 6am!) but she at least gave us a line or two. Not quite as amused by the end though, I think she realized she was half naked and mommy would be showing the world. How disgraceful. Lol!

I love her laugh

Jordan is in a biting phase. LOVELY... The other night she tried to bite me and I told her "No" and then said snuggling and cuddling is much nicer than biting, and this is what ended up happening... I'm so into " tough love", can you tell??

(notice the hair clip still in her hand??)

Hair Attack!

Jordan's hair has been in her face for a couple of months now. Dave insists on a hair cut. I refuse each and every time. I bought 3 hair clips - twenty dollars! These claim to be no slip. Boy are they ever. If only they were baby resistant too. I cannot keep the darn thing in Jordan's hair for more than a minute! Just to see if it was the clip bothering her, I ran my fingers in her hair then pretended to clip her hair with my pointer and middle fingers. Seconds later Jordan's hands were yanking my fingers out of her hair. I think a hair cut is inevitable. Now I just have to decide if I will do it myself or pay someone. I think I will hold on to the hair clips for now. Who knows, maybe she will like them when she is older. I did get a picture before said clip was pulled out. So cute!

A true pre-teen

I have reverted back to being 12 years old tonight and am enjoying alone time tonight by reading Anne of Green Gables. I haven't read books like this since I was in middle school. Whatever happened to young girls spending evenings at home reading wholesome books? Now they all concern themselves with make-up, boys, clothing fashions, going out, etc etc... Word of advice little ones... stay young as long as you can! Being older and a "responsible" adult can wait. Believe me.

Now, what page was I on?
