In One Week...

I will be in Illinois. Is it time for me to freak out yet?? I'm excited, don't get me wrong. But I am also very sad to leave my lovely hometown, my friends that are still around, and my parents.

We are not quite ready. Tomorrow and Monday we will continue to purge our unnecessary items. Tuesday is fun day, Wednesday we pack what we need for the 10 days in the hotel and at my parents house, and get all our stuff ready for the moving company.

Not much else to report. Ben is still pretty fussy at times, especially in the evening, so I will be asking his doctor about that at his 2 month well visit this upcoming Friday... that's right, TWO MONTH VISIT!! My little boy is growing way too fast. He's outgrown many of his 0-3 month clothes, so I have a laundry basket of 3-6 month clothes ready to be washed. Jordan is being a bit of a brat... I think she is practicing a bit too much! She has been a bit insecure about Dave, worried when he leaves that he won't be coming back. Who can blame her?

I am doing well. A bit stressed, but excited about starting a new adventure with my family!

MIA for a bit longer.

So I won't be on much for the next few weeks... we move in 10 days! Our lives are quite chaotic over here. Dave's back and all his stuff has taken over our tiny apartment. I have been squeezing in last minute doctors appointments and getting loose ends tied up. Next Tuesday we move in with my parents so Dave and I can get our stuff ready to be packed up by the moving company on Thursday!!! SO SOON! Diet is OUT THE WINDOW until we've moved and are a bit settled. I just can't be bothered to pay much attention to it while my life is being turned upside-down. Dave is apparently not letting me slack on exercise though and is DETERMINED to get me to do a crap load of push ups and situps... sigh.

Anyway, I will hopefully be able to post here and there with little updates using Dave's laptop at the hotel in Great Lakes. I will leave you with an awesome photo of Ben in his new onsie from a good friend in South Africa!

A Good Moment Erases The Bad

Since turning two, Jordan has decided to test out her new title of "toddler" and has been showing me her best terrible two impressions every day, multiple times a day. This morning was no exception. Tantrum after tantrum for 2 hours. Lunch then nap. A couple more tantrums in the afternoon.

I finally let her watch tv this evening after dinner. While I was sitting on the floor, Jordan crawled into my lap and gave me the biggest hug. All the memories of her tantrums today and over the weekend melted away and I remembered why I loved my daughter so much. The unconditional love between parents and children is so strong and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I love my terrible two toddler!!

Bed Update

Remember awhile ago I mentioned how it is completely insane that Dave and I share a double bed along with 2 cats? Well fortune has come our way and we are receiving a FREE sturdy wood bed... QUEEN size!! To go with our fabulous new queen bed, my parents are being incredibly generous and getting our mattresses for us. I'm forever grateful!

I'm now looking forward to our move even more because I will get to sleep next to my husband and ENJOY it! =)

(anyone need to buy a double IKEA bed in the Pittsburgh area before March 7th??)

New Hair Cut

I finally got my haircut today. I was about 6 months overdue. I wanted to keep it longer so I could pull it back and away from prying hands, but Dave wanted me to have it a bit shorter. I thought I'd do what Dave wanted since he's been gone so long! =)

Happy birthday my wonderful girl. You amaze us every day with how much you grow and learn. You never cease to put a smile on my face at least once a day. And no matter how many tantrums you throw now that you are a big 2 year old girl, I will always love you!

My Not 100th Post

Apparently I didn't realize that I have over 100 posts. In fact, this is my 159th post. I wanted to do a big fun post for my 100th but I am not observant enough to do that. And now I am just too tired to do anything fun for my 150th. Maybe my 200th post will be exciting?

Er, probably not.

Don't hold your breath.

The only exciting thing happening around here today is a trip to Costco and Target with both kids and my mom. Don't worry, more exciting thing will happen soon for me to post about. Like Jordan's upcoming 2nd birthday and Dave coming home in 13 days!

Oh, and our bath tub has been taken over by dinosaurs... I hope the neighbors don't mind!

I recently acquired this video from Mary Beth and I thought I would share. I am a sucker for cat videos. =)

7 to 10 Days? Yeah Right!

I hate how the medical profession tells us that our babies will do certain things at certain ages. Then when we have a child who doesn't follow that time line we freak out.

They tell parents that a baby will lose his/her cord stump in 7 to 10 days. Well my friends, I am here to tell you that information is a bunch of b.s. Here is my little man at 3.5 weeks old, cord stump freshly off.

Jordan, on the other hand, decided to hold onto hers for 3.5 MONTHS.

Be Careful What You Wish For

As some of you may know I have been on the quest to find a dessert that my daughter will like. She is the typical toddler EXCEPT her disdain for treats. In the past several months I have tried various types of cookies (only peanut butter cookies won, and she only eats half a cookie), cakes, m&ms, and other treats. She usually will take one lick then say NO and hand me back the wet, soggy whatever it is she tried.

I was thrilled Friday to discover Edy's special edition Girl Scout ice creams were back in the freezer section and happily picked up a container of Tagalong and a container of Thin Mint ice creams for my enjoyment, not planning on sharing with my disagreeable toddler. That night some friends were over and I decided to share with them. Jordan, being the odd one out, did not get her own cup of ice cream. She saw everyone eating it and of course asked for some. I humoured her, only to find out she actually LIKED the Tagalong ice cream. In fact, she screamed "IEEE CEEEEE" both Friday night and Saturday night from her crib after being put to bed. At 9am this morning she threw a 20 minute tantrum because she was hungry and wanted said "ieee ceeeee" and mean mommy said "No, but you can have a banana". HORRIBLE of me!

I did manage to get her happy again...

Fruity Pebbles are healthier than ice cream, right???
