 In 4 more days I turn 30. Here are some confessions I have about this upcoming birthday...

I confess... that I have been telling EVERYONE that I'm not bothered at all about turning 30 because I am already married and have children... But I AM bothered!

I confess... that I am a bit nervous that I am almost 30 and have NO idea what to do with my life.

I confess... that I am a bit nervous my husband isn't getting me anything.  We always say no gifts, but really, isn't that woman's talk for "you'd better be surprising me!"

I confess... that I totally want to break my diet and go out for Chinese Buffet.  Of ALL the places I could pick to eat at that night, that's where I pick.  Bring it on!

Birthday Party Cake

Against better judgment I thought a joint party for the kids would be easier and less work than separate parties... besides, the same people were invited to both parties, so it just made sense. However, I think next year we'll just do 2 parties since Jordan calls it HER party and won't acknowledge that Ben has a birthday too.

Anyway, Jordan LOVED hopscotch this past summer so I thought a hopscotch cake would be cute. It didn't turn out how I had imagined it to be, but I think it'll do. When I asked Jordan what she thought of her cake she said "oh! MY hopscotch cake. THANK YOU MOM!" =)

Yesterday my baby *tear* turned ONE year old... I know it is a cliche to say time flies, but it does! It really really does. Somehow he transformed from this teeny tiny baby who barely fit into preemie clothing into a cruising bruiser of a boy!

Happy Birthday Jordan!!!

This time last year my precious baby girl, Jordan Olivia, was born. After a weekend of contractions every 3-10 minutes, I was admitted to Magee Hospital by early afternoon on Monday February 12, 2007. After receiving pitocin, agreeing to an epidural, and an hour of pushing, Jordan entered this world. It was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced. My husband was an amazing person throughout it all (and I don't just say that because he got me 2 packages of Oreos and a shit-load of fudge that day!!). He held my hand even though he was a little squimish at first. But nearly the end he was able to turn around and see our daughter arrive. He cut the cord, took her first picture, and held her first. I think that moment changed our lives forever. Jordan, I am so thankful that you have come into our lives and have made us happier than we could ever imagine. Thank you precious girl! You will never cease to amaze us and fill our hearts with love!!

Early Birthday Present

Last week, when I was home ill, my baby got a package in the mail. Normal, right? Not really...it was from her deceased great-grandmother, Beamers. Beamers passed away when my daughter was a month old, so they have never met. Unknown to me, Beamers was working on a quilt for my daughter when she passed. A good friend of hers finished it, and hubby's aunt mailed it just in time for my daughters birthday. Hubby and I had an argument about whether the quilt should be used... I won. Baby will be using it =)
